The glories of morning glory

I love creeping plants and love morning glory.
Previously I had one but when I started getting busy moving to KL and ignoring the plant, it died.

My sister knew that I was searching for the flower to plant again so when she found one in a nursery besides the highway she bought for me.

I planted it near the wall where the long bean used to be.

I hope I can find the red coloured morning glory by the name of Scarlet O'hara but its quite hard to find morning glories whatever the colour is!

Its such a joy  to see morning glory blooming when I go to my garden every morning
I hope they are happy here in their new home.

Thought I share with you a poetry mentioning morning glory(tho I dont think it refers to the flower) but I still like this one.Its by CHRIS GREEN from the website helloppoetry.

                                             Arise my morning glory
                                               the coffees on to brew
A brand new day is waiting
                                               To welcome me and you.

Chinese Lantern Flower

I was searching for a climbing plant in the nursery and saw this bright red flowers and couldnt help myself but took home with me.
It is called Chinese Lantern flower.
I planted it in a pot behind the kitchen and hoping that it will fill up the wall grill.

I love looking at it especially when the sun shines on them and seeing the shadows and reflections of the leaves and flowers.

But it didnt last long. The flower colours fade away and the leaves became yellowish.

I suspected it was because they didnt get enough sunlight there and also the pot was not big enough for it to grow fatter.
So I transfered it to the front where my bunga telang used to be.(Yeah the bunga telang was so out of controlled that I decided to pull it out).
I am hoping for it to give me bright red lanterns one day.

So far I only see these...

White Zinnia

I bought these seeds from Iris Seeds.

I just threw the seeds on the ground and one fine day a white zinnia bloomed.

Its very pretty

And I think it last longer than the usual Zinnia.
Or is it because I always look at it everyday?
I wish I have many of these but only one survived.

My sunflowers

The garden has more sunflowers recently.
They really brightened up the garden although they look spindly/raggedy.Dont know why they become like that.

But still... you are beautiful to me.

Something blue in the garden

Planted these blue flowers which I have yet to know the name in between my roses plant.
They seem to survive very well there.

Close up view of the small blue flowers.

I want to plant more of them here...
Just find out the name is BLUE HAZE FLOWER

Mandevilla flowering season in my garden

It must be the fertilizer I put that day that makes the mandevilla flowering like crazy..

But unlucky me,they are all facing the neighbours porch!!!
A recent photo of my favourite flower.(21/8/2015)

Lotus again!

It was good to see the lotus leaves increase in number and bigger. It wasnt very healthy before that due to me neglecting the garden.

And bloom all the way....

Lotus flower really made my day.

Japanese Rose

Bunga telang

The pokok bunga telang is growing very well.
I have been using the flowers many times to make blue rice like the nasi kerabu. It doesnt taste anything except that they make the rice blue je.

Close up view.

Here are the seeds I took when clearing the messy pokok telang. It is very easy to grow.
And this was my pokok bunga telang masa awal awal dulu.
Look how bushy they are now.No special fertilizer, just water and love..hehe
I have planted a white bunga telang but it still hasnt fully matured(the small one)
I cant wait to see how a white bunga telang will look like.Hope it will be as pretty as the blue ones.

My pretty Mandevilla

My mandevilla is growing well..

I just found out that if you want more bushier plant just use fingers and pinch off 1/4 to 1/2 inch off the end of stem.I should do this the next time I do gardening.

Seeing unopen buds always gets me excited.

So pretty but they were facing towards my neighbours garden.Grrrr.....

Wondering whether mandevilla can have different shades of colour in the same plant?

Rose garden come true

Somewhere last week something strike my mind when I passed through my rose garden.I just realised that I have made one of my garden dreams come true which was to have a rose garden of my own.And I did it!!
I have pink,red,orange/red,orange and white colored roses and small miniature roses.I havent taken any effort yet to know their names which I think I should do in near future.

I know I cannot expect my garden to be very bushy like the  ones in Cameron Highland as the weather was very hot lately. But they still bloom for me...

Some close up view of the roses...
Just bought this one at Jusco.Hope it will survive.

I was so excited seeing so many buds and couldnt wait for them to open. When I bought this rose plant I thought it will be yellow in colour.
When it turned out to be a  burst of orange roses lighting up the garden.

This is one of the original surviving rose that still live when I moved to KL.I love this colour on my lips....

These small orange/red roses were the ones I bought at MAHA Expo last year.

It looks so velvety..

Love these pinks..

To tell the truth I never thought I could achieve all these because I always thought planting roses is difficult.I realised that what I need to do is checking them regularly for insects, give them fertilizer(I think the spray ones work wonders!),give them teabags and banana skin and regularly prune them after the flowers dry up.
I just wish they are more bigger and I certainly need to add more colours of roses there...
